Chronicles of a Sorcerer King – Week 5 – 7

Oi!

Oi!

…..hmmm….I don’t remember putting on these socks… Oh Hello there! Sorcerer King here. Geez its been a long time since I graced these pages with my tail…er Tale. I’m going to take you back to a time when things were different and people were more violent.

I’ll start with Week 5. It wasn’t all that exciting of a week. If you remember, the heroes were thrown out of the arena dungeon and found themselves in the temple of Tamalir, resting and recuperating. I did that. Being evil ain’t easy. While in town, the heroes went to the market and store. They decided to dump some of that cash that was encumbering them. The magic items draw was probably the best that they have seen yet. They bought a magic boat, a bag of holding, staff of the wild, and the archers charm. I’ll admit, I was unnerved by these new additions. I nearly forgot! I bought the siege engines upgrade and Alric Farrow continued to siege Dawnsmoor.

Week 6 was more adventurous. First, I purchased Merrick Farrow. Next I rolled to see if dawnsmoor can withstand the siege of Alric Farrow. Unfortunately with my siege engines and obsidian shackles, I was able to raze the city! That spelled bad news for the heroes, the extent of which we may someday see.

The heroes left Tamalir and ventured toward blackwing swamp, but found themselves in a red rated encounter. The mission was The Sentinels and it was located in the Marshy Valley. Now, this was a while ago, so I don’t remember all the details. The bottom line was the heroes killed one master golem and left. This actually worked out for them pretty decently as none of them were killed and they netted a little conquest. They decided to enter the dungeon in black wing swamp. The Fountain of Life dungeon was drawn. This mission didn’t go as well for the heroes. My legion of monsters hugged the fountain while I smoked them out of their foxholes with spawned skeleton parties. After a few deaths, the heroes said “f-u sorcerer king” and left. None of us realized that fleeing a dungeon meant going back to Tamalir.

At this point, we lost Runemaster Thorn to animosity. Sir Valadir managed to cast puppet strings on him and now controls him with a skill all marionettes envy.

That’s how week 7 started. Alric moved to the Misty Plains and Merrick moved to the Bitter Downs. I purchased the snipers upgrade for my skeletons. The heroes proceeded to the razed Dawnsmoor, but got stuck in an encounter. It was another red one called To Fight in the Shade. It ended up being rather easy. No one died to the manticores. 2 conquest later, they arrived in Dawnsmoor…or what was left of it. Bwahahahah!!

Erm, well, that”s the end. The conquest tally is something like Heroes 34 to Overlord 66. Encounters seem to be helping them shorten the gap. If I am reckoning right, I believe they are headed toward the secret master training area. How they learned its location is beyond me. I’m auditing my command staff to find the leak. I leave you with a map overview.

  1. Um, the home city is called Tamalir. The entire region is called Terrinoth. ;)

  2. Right. Overlords are allowed one mistake per year. That counts as mine.
