Descent – Spoiled Brat – Night 3
During the week, I sent the following taunt to Mordrog:

lawlz epic fail
He replied with this:

zomg reversal!
Here lies the account of the final chapter of Descent Journeys in the Dark Level 4……
Steelhorns and Jaes opened the northerly door and cleaned house. Steelhorns advanced in and cleaved his way through 2 monsters. Jaes followed up and killed 2 more. The only remaining monster left in the room was a razorwing. Meanwhile Mordrog killed 1 master sorcerer, climbed out of the pit, and advanced into another pit, courtesy of the overlord. Ronan was resurrected and returned from the town and moved to help Mordrog. Incidentally, he also moved in a position that blocked me from spawning monsters on Mordrog in my turn. Poophead.

Steelhorns and Jaes clear the room
Things were getting a little dicey. I had Mordrog in a pit, with a host of monsters at my call. Could I kill him? Well, I played my beastman spawning party and they came in local to my room. I moved everyone into attack…except 1 regular beastman, which wasn’t able to make b2b contact. I did fairly well, only whiffing 1 roll. However, it wasn’t enough to kill him because of his ridiculously good elven cloak. I had him down to 6 life and I shot my wad. Total bummer. It was such a let down. My knockback put him in a weird spot behind the master ogre. The big orc is worth 4 conquest and I wouldn’t be getting it this turn. In my disappointment, I forgot to move the razorwing, but the players let me move it after the fact. It attacked steehorns and did nada.
Mordrog responded by killing the master ogre and using movement and fatigue to open the chest in the room. I retorted by using an exploding rune on him knocking him down to 3 life. ARGH!!!! He is like a turd that won’t flush!!! Ronan went bananas, used fatigue to move, and then proceeded to kill most everything over there. However, I will point out, he used 2 attacks to kill a master skeleton, which successfully made 6 undying rolls before finally being disintegrated. I was on fire with those surges! It was my finest 18 seconds. When the smoke cleared, all that remained was red skelton and a normal beastman. Furthermore, both Mordrog and Ronan escaped to town via the glyph they activated in the room. On the other side of the board, Jaes went back to town and Steelhorns began walking back toward the last door, the princess in tow.
A spontaneous break occurred and this picture was taken by an unknown freelance photographer that stopped by.

Seats go from 9'oclock, clockwise: Overlord, Mordrog, Jaes, Steelhorns, and Ronan
I moved the beastman and skeleton closer towards the center to optimistically close some doors and slow Steelhorns down. I played a Horde of things card, which wasn’t the best thing to play, but I knew the game was basically over. I was hoping to use the extra monsters to screen the dragon and give it a chance to fight. Unfortunately, the heroes had more equipment than I could shake a stick at and they had specialized tools for the job…much to my chagrin.
The players did a quick town swap, spending the turn buying stuff and moving
into position. They came out of the town portal closest to the rune door.
My beastman reached one door and closed it. Bwahahah! I closed it right on Steelhorns face. Subsequently. he killed my beastman in a gesture of good will. I did nothing else except prepare for the next fight. I had a spiked pit, paralyzing gas, aim, and dark charm in hand. I was planning on submarining whomever opened that door….
Next turn Mordrog kicked it with a tasty grove beside the red runed door. He opened it and I popped paralyzing gas on him…which after cloaking and trapmaster did 1 damage and stunned him. meh woot. Jaes battled into the room, via knight ability, and used his fancy blast 3 rune to do 3 attacks to every monster in the room. This killed everything except Graaz the dragon who had like 9 life left. Ronan moved forward, but I hit him with a spiked trap in an attempt to shorten his movement. It worked, but I really should have done it on the last space he moved into so that he would have no LOS. I didn’t however, and he used his fatigue to do 2 shots on Graaz from 7 spaces away, toasting her utterly.
Grazz is defeated. There is much rejoicing...
With that, Level 4 was finally concluded. The heroes escaped the dungeon and ran off into the woods to pillage the princess. Meanwhile, I was left to lick my wounds hoping that fatigue potions cause erectile dysfunction.

Next time heroes, next time……

Damn. I can’t believe the master dragon did nothing. That sucks.

Tell me about it. That’s the problem with small rooms. The heroes are able to kill everything in the room from the doorway.
